Last Week, Cheval Rouge sponsored the annual Distillers South Australia conference, partnering with DIAM to showcase some of their work in packaging and procurement. Will Pitchforth presented to an audience of distillers and industry experts on the practical challenges of export for Australian distillers.
Will outlined some of the key export processes Cheval Rouge has developed with clients, including Lula Rum and New Norfolk in New Zealand, Waubs Harbour in Japan, Broody Hen in Taiwan, and Waiheke Whisky in Australia.
Shaping South Australia's distilling future, Distillers South Australia in partnership with the Department of State Development, worked to deliver the Spirits Expansion Program. This program will help SA distillers scale to forge a strong domestic and global market position, spreading our spirited story of traceability, provenance, and innovation in the Australian distilling sector.
The new $250,000 Spirits Expansion Program is designed to help SA distilleries expand locally and into priority international markets through:
✔️ Strengthening local demand and market penetration for craft spirits and brewers
✔️ Building export capability for South Australian distillers
✔️ Supporting established exporters to diversify into new global markets
✔️ Market activation in priority international markets
Despite globally challenging conditions for smaller distilleries, some of the brands coming out of South Australia have strong value propositions and with the announcement of new support packages from the South Australian government to assist distillers in navigating the challenges of export, we look forward to seeing more from South Australian drinks brands around the world.
